NOTICE is hereby given that the Office of the Village Clerk, acting as local election
official for the Village of Kaneville, will be open:

*additional times/dates might be added after discussion by of the next Village Board meeting on Thursday, October 17th, 2024*

•Monday, October 21st - 3pm - 5pm
•Tuesday, October 22nd - 9am - 11am
•Friday, October 25th- 4pm - 6pm
•Monday, October 28th - 9am - 11am & 5pm - 7pm

for the purpose of accepting candidate
petitions or certificates for the 2025 consolidated election to be held on April 1st, 2025 for the following offices to be voted upon:

•Village President (4 year term)
•Trustee (4 year term)

Items for the canidates

Petition: Nonpartisan - SBE Form P-5 (for Primary, as applicable)
Number of Signatures Required: 1% of the total vote cast at the last preceding election in the village for president.
Statement of Candidacy: Nonpartisan SBE Form P-1A
Petition Circulation Period: Petitions may NOT be circulated prior to July 30, 2024.
Petition Filing Dates: For nonpartisan candidates filing for a primary, October 21-28, 2024 (not more than 127 nor less than 120 days prior to the date of the Consolidated Primary Election).
Election Dates:
a. FEBRUARY 25, 2025 is the Consolidated Primary Election. However, there will likely NOT be a primary unless more than four times the number of candidates file for a particular office. For example, if Kaneville had three trustee spots open there would not be a primary unless thirteen individuals filed (3 x 4 = 12). If less than four times the number of candidates file for a particular office, all of the candidates’ names are automatically put on the consolidated election ballot.

b. APRIL 1, 2025 is the Consolidated Election
